Building the hiring engine behind a consulting firm's expansion into Mexico

The challenge
A consulting firm was expanding its operations into Mexico, starting with an office in Jalisco, and needed to hire technology talent there quickly. Its careers site and apply process were built for US candidates only. The firm also had no brand recognition among job seekers in Mexico, and it had to keep US and Mexican candidate data separate while following Mexican hiring laws.
The approach
Kady built the recruiting foundation for a new country, then gave the firm a brand candidates would recognize.
A separated apply process: created an application flow that kept Mexican and US candidate data fully separate, and made sure candidates could only apply to jobs in their own country
A Spanish-language careers site: launched a Spanish version of the hiring site so candidates in Mexico could explore roles and apply in their own language
Compliance with Mexican hiring laws: made sure the careers site and apply process met local legal requirements
Brand awareness in Mexico: launched social media channels for the Mexico market, created a video series and ran a billboard campaign to introduce the firm to tech talent
An in-country marketing team: we hired two marketing employees in Mexico to support the expansion
A referral program: created and launched an employee referral program to bring in more qualified candidates
The results
200+ people hired to staff the firm's development center in Mexico
Hiring kept pace with demand as the firm grew its Mexico operations
A second office opened in Monterrey, following the first in Jalisco
President's Club in year one for one of the two marketing hires in Mexico, recognized for outstanding work
A compliant, bilingual hiring experience with fully separated US and Mexican candidate data
More qualified referrals through the new referral program
1.5M+ billboard impressions a month, plus new social media channels building awareness with tech talent in Mexico
Great Place to Work award, multiple years in a row, earned as part of the talent hiring campaign and used to build credibility with candidates
Why it matters for technology and consulting firms
Expanding into a new country only works if you can hire there. A localized, compliant careers experience and a recognizable employer brand let a firm compete for talent from day one, not after months of catching up.
